На этой встрече мы хотим познакомиться друг с другом, вместе выпить пива и пообщаться.

17:00 - 17:45 Bruce Eckel “Creating Trust Organization”
Job disengagement dramatically and negatively impacts creativity and productivity. It also loses employees, and makes them harder to acquire in the first place (especially notable in this period of employee scarcity). Most of all, it creates an unhappy world of work. Based on six years of research and organization visits, I present the “Trust Organization Manifesto,” a radically different and yet surprisingly well-tested set of guidelines for self-organizing a company where “work is joy.”
Because these ideas deeply challenge the industrial-age management thinking we’ve been trained into from birth, I invite you to come with a What-If mindset; try on some ideas and see if anything fits. If there is interest we will arrange a discussion afterwards.

18:15 - 19:00 Volker Simonis "How to contibute to OpenJDK"
Like all open source projects, OpeJDK has its own cultures, tools and idiosyncrasies. It is a polyglot project written in multiple languages (including Java, C/C++ and Assembler), it has an uncommon test system (JTreg) and a complex build system (GNU make). Adding to all this the fact that the OpenJDK project is quite large (~6 million lines of code) and has a confusing structure (~20 groups, ~50 projects, ~140 mailing lists and countless repositories) it is not easy for typical Java developers to join the project.
But the OpenJDK also has a well established working model (described in the OpenJDK Bylaws) and development process. This talk will explain the overall project setup and give some practical hints on how to get involved into the project (e.g. as early adopter, by contributing a bug fix or by proposing new features).
